Now the great winds shoreward blow, Now the salt tides seaward flow, Now the wild white horses play, Champ and chafe and toss in the spray...

“Is it so small a thing to have enjoyed the sun,

To have lived light in the spring, to have loved, to have thought, to have done?”

(Matthew Arnold)

  1. Fabulous capture, Lisa.I love the 3 layers to this one- the blue sea, deceptive in its calm look, the foaming, dancing, dripping white horses, and then the sandy layer, sucking everything back out.
I can almost hear the sea and the crash of those waves.
Must have been exciting last night?

  2. They really do look like white horses, don't they? Perfect blend of words and photo.

  3. Mimi it was actually a bit of an anticlimax! Last night was wilder... I'm told by my neighbors to expect the sea in my garden during some storms!

Stephanie - Yes! I love that - its such a lovely and sad idea the white horses... makes me think of the Last Unicorn
